Sean Bailey is an American film and television producer. He served as president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production from 2010 to 2024.

In January 2010, Bailey was named president of production at Walt Disney Studios, overseeing live-action films produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures.[1] Bailey has overseen the release of five films that have surpassed $1 billion in global box office, including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.[2]

In an interview during San Diego Comic-Con, Bailey was quoted about how he flew out to Hawaii, where there was Johnny Depp, Rob Marshall, and Jerry Bruckheimer on the Pirates of the Caribbean set. Of the then-upcoming movies, Bailey spent "a lot of time with the Pirates guys", saying that Marshall was doing "a heck of a job" with Bruckheimer as well as the "really cool cast" with Depp, Ian McShane and Penélope Cruz. Bailey also commented about the film's story, which took inspiration from the On Stranger Tides book, being "kind of it's own story" that returned to what he viewed as "the narrative propulsion of the first movie."[3]

During the D23 Expo 2015, Sean Bailey took part in "Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios" presentation where he talked about upcoming releases, including Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, accompanied by actor Johnny Depp, who dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow for the event.[4][5][6]

Other successes include Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King.[2] Sean Bailey left the Studio in 2024.[7]
