The Kingdom of Kush, also known as the Kushite Empire, or simply Kush, was an ancient kingdom in Nubia, centered along the Nile Valley.
History
At some point in history, Kush was merged with Egypt into a single kingdom. It was around that time that some Kushites abandoned their homes and journeyed to the West, where they inhabited an island in the Atlantic Ocean, which they named Kerma, after the former capital of Kush. Three thousand years later, princess Amenirdis led an expedition from the island to reunite the islanders with their eastern countrymen, but instead of the magnificent civilization, they found just old ruins, abandoned centuries earlier.
